Before she could speak, we pushed birthday cakes on Anthem. But as soon as she could talk, the homemade tiered cake with pink icing and rock sugar bling, pretty as it was, was voted down for something simpler. Something warm, sugar-iced, and cinnamon-infused. I am sure there are others who have found the cinnamon roll worthy of birthdays. For me, I see no reason to celebrate only annually, and will eat them daily with black coffee.
