You can use the power of anchoring you learnt to trigger an empowered state. Listen to ‘Rocky’ or Olympic theme songs from your CD player just before the exam. Put the power moves that you have developed (like pumping your fists in the air or snapping your fingers and shouting ‘Yes!’) into action.
Once you are at the peak of your empowered state, you can begin to tackle the paper.
The first thing you should do when you start the paper is to read through all the instructions and scan the entire paper from beginning to end before starting to attempt any questions. Scanning helps you to plan the order in which to answer the questions as well as how much time to spend on each section.
A lack of time is the undoing of many students, whether they are prepared or not. So, it is important that you keep track of the time by glancing at your watch every time you feel the need to. In order to avoid running out of time, you should:
Allocate Your Time Wisely
Always plan in advance the amount of time you will spend on each section and, subsequently, on each question. This should mostly be done during the dry runs.
Plan For Extra Time
You should also plan for an extra ‘check-back time’ of at least 15 minutes. This time can also be used as an emergency measure, if you happen to exceed the time you have allocated for your questions.
