After denying YHVH, Kabbalah, and the mystics, I searched for significant and slight differences between Yahweh, father of Abraham, and the Christian god, father of Jesus. This is what I concluded.
Yahweh tested Abraham with parricide, which would have Abraham effectively eradicate his heir; thus his, YHVH’s, future. If Abraham had sacrificed Isaac, he would have ended his lineage on earth and the Jews would have disappeared before they ever existed, not even leaving a fossil to trace their extinction. God’s chosen would have been no more; he would never have seen his son again.
The architects of Christianity improved on this mythical act of parricide. This god sent forth his son to be crucified by the hand of the people. In this vision of heaven the saints and the sinners, even converted Jews, could be saved if they would hear the saving, silent word of their father. This god was secure in the knowledge that he and his son would be one again in heaven.
