Our goal is to:
• Learn the origins of—and factors that shaped—the Montgomery GI Bill and its relationship to the All-Volunteer Force;
• Learn the reality and challenge of writing the Montgomery GI Bill into law through problem identification, enactment, and implementation;
• Learn the prominent roles played by subcommittees and full committees functioning as “little legislatures;” and
• Learn the art of policy development, as practiced (as in “trial and error”) by the legislative and executive branches and interest groups through visuals we hope will bring the case study to life for you.
