Add pouring medium over the top of your dried composition. Start pouring the medium in the center and let it spread naturally.
Take a large spatula-style palette knife and smooth out the pouring medium until it is evenly applied over the entire piece.
Another way to add dimension is to use a Fineline applicator to drop paint into the pouring medium. The more fluid your acrylic paint is, the more it will bloom into the pouring medium.
Allow the piece to dry at least twenty-four hours before you handle it. Depending on your area’s climate and humidity, drying could take several days. The result is faux resin, or a glasslike topcoat. The paint colors underneath will be enhanced as well.
