But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
—1 CORINTHIANS 15:20
MY FAMILY IS notorious for arguments. It is how we communicate, and it is not surprising to see someone stating your stance as their own days after they had the opposing view. I would suppose that’s when you realize you won the argument. I believe one of the strongest arguments for Christ’s resurrection is the fact that Christ’s closest followers died in martyrdom because of their witness of a risen Lord (1 Corinthians 15:5–6). History books document that these men would rather die than deny the resurrection. It begs the question, “Who would die for a lie, knowing it was a lie, when the issue was life after death?”
Prayer
Lord, give me the confidence not only to share the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus but to live and die in view of the risen Savior. Jesus is Lord.
