THE TRUTH OF GOD

duck

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.

—PSALM 14:1

ONE OF THE things I learned in Vietnam is that without God, there is no end to the evil men and women can do. Hey, I didn’t even have to go to Vietnam to learn that! History has shown us that when people try to govern and rule without God, the results are disastrous and murderous. Without exception, every atheistic philosophy has been marked by the murder of people and enslavement of idealism. Hey, some people have even done horrible things in the name of Christianity, perverting God’s truth. When truth is misused or downright ignored, bad things happen. In the verse above, the psalmist speaks truth in pure and simple terms—when we deny the reality of God, bad things happen. Today, I want to recognize God in my life, in my family, in my community, in my country, and in my world. May He forever rule, so there will be good for all!

Prayer

Father, we recognize Your greatness, Your rule, and Your place of honor over the human race and all of the governments of this world. May Your name be glorified today among the nations! We pray through Jesus Christ, amen.
