Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
—ROMANS 12:1–2
MOST PEOPLE THINK that if they “go to church” every time the doors are open, they have fulfilled their duty to God. That is why they refer to “going to church” as “worship services.” Read this text carefully, and you will see God is saying that your body, your life—wherever you are—should be lived in totality as your spiritual worship. We, the body of Christ, individually and collectively, worship God whether we are interacting with our wife, our children, in the duck blind, at the supermarket, or at our work place. We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Be salt! Be light! Anywhere, everywhere, all the time! That is worshipping God in spirit and in truth. Do not be afraid!
Prayer
Lord, help us to glorify You as God wherever we are and whatever we are doing so that all can see Jesus through our lives on the earth. Amen.
