And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
—REVELATION 21:3–5
THAT’S WHAT I’M talking about, Jack! When I read the promises of that scripture, I’m amazed that those blessings are for me. This says that we will be physically restored to our living and loving God when our Savior returns. But these words are not written only to encourage us about the future, but also to remind us that we are God’s people now and He is our God. I wouldn’t believe it if I wasn’t so sure it is true!
Prayer
Father, we are so excited about the hope of full restoration with You, with our Lord and brother, Jesus, and with the Holy Spirit. We can’t hardly wait for the end of the old heaven and earth. Through Christ, with the help of the Spirit, I pray, amen.
