WHEN I WAS in high school, our football coach was also my Bible teacher. He would tell his Bible students the same thing that he told his football players: “Don’t just talk the talk; walk the walk.” In other words, you can talk all day long, but if you don’t back it up with your actions, it means nothing. It applied to football, and it applies to our walk with Jesus. If we don’t show our faith in God’s power by our daily actions, no one will care if we say we are Christians. If we truly love Jesus and appreciate His sacrifice, we will live our lives in a sacrificial way.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your sacrifice. Thank You for putting my needs ahead of the comfort of Your Son. Because of Your ultimate act of kindness, I have hope of a resurrected body that I do not deserve. Please help me to live my life in a way that makes me worthy of that sacrifice.
