It is vital to note that this list is not absolutely perfect. It embodies a structural representation of what can be described as akin to a living, breathing, organism, subject to scrutiny, discovery, and change. Furthermore, although intense attention to detail has been at the forefront of this project, due to the grandiose goals and largesse associated with doing such a demanding task as this book, there are bound to be mistakes. Given the passion involved in this work and the personal closeness to the subject matter, it is this author’s mission to right those particular wrongs. When primary sources could not be attained via direct contact (interview), some album information was collected from secondary sources, such as liner notes that have been deemed more accurate by primary sources, and from sites that publish those liner notes. Some of these sources contained notes pertaining to the personnel on an album as a whole and not on a song-by-song basis. In those rare cases, the word “or” is employed to denote when multiple players are listed for specific tasks on the album or for situations when information is not disseminated regarding the specifics with the songs. This happens only on certain occasions in the book, but it needs to be pointed out on albums where the song-by-song information via secondary sources was tendentious, missing, or incomplete. In cases of the latter, the “?” is also employed; it is important to note that this happened only on certain occasions but is notable when there is no one alive to speak to about said lack of information or if subjects who know said information have been unable or unwilling to take an interview. There were also, surprisingly, only a few cases where primary sources disagreed on certain personnel information. In those times, decisions had to be made on the basis of majority rules and individuals’ cognition regarding memory of said sessions. These decisions are very difficult to make when dealing with opposing facts. This being the first edition, there will doubtlessly be corrections to be made, but for the overwhelming majority of the material, the information is valid, triple-checked, and legitimized.
