Faith can be the belief in the experiences of other people. On these pages you have met men and women whose lives are examples of dramatic change. The participants do not suggest that they did anything heroic. Nobody wants to be an alcoholic; nobody wants to live in a family that is influenced by alcoholic behavior.
If you can identify with these stories, change your own life. Action requires effort and risk, but it is worth the results.
Individually and collectively the contributors offer their stories and observations as proof that their lives are happier today than ever before. The message to the alcoholic is, "Recognize yourself in our stories; if you do have a drinking problem, do something about it now. We guarantee that your life will be better than you ever dreamed possible."
The message to the families of alcoholics is "Do not accept your life with alcoholism. Seek help for yourself first, then force the issue with the alcoholic. Life doesn't have to be the way it is now."
Everyone in this book offers you hope, and help is readily available.
Have faith.
Have the courage to change.
