NURGLINGS

Little balls of snarling pus, Nurglings look like tiny bloated imps. Constantly chattering, they spread diseases wherever they scamper, causing mischief as they chew through machinery and weaponry. They can even mash themselves together to form larger monsters.

One thing is certain: with their razor-sharp teeth, disease-ridden claws and the habit of infecting anyone they touch, Nurglings make terrible pets. Never, ever take one in!

TECHNOLOGY

While the Imperium may seem advanced, much of the machinery is a mystery to those who use or maintain it. The Adeptus Mechanicus actively punish those who deviate from the ancient blueprints that have been passed down from one generation to the next. For most humans, technology is no different to magic.

THE MACHINE-LORD

The Adeptus Mechanicus believe in an all-powerful Machine-Lord who created the technology in the universe. Officially, the adepts of Mars maintain that the Emperor is the physical embodiment of this great power, although many secretly believe that the Machine-Lord will return one day to reward his followers with fresh knowledge.

CORLAK

Jeremias’s macabre drone has been by his side for as long as anyone can remember. Like all servo-skulls, Corlak is little more than a floating cogitator, but carries out the inquisitor’s commands to the letter, and is even capable of piloting the Zealot’s Heart.

No one really knows who originally owned the skull used to create Corlak. Some say it belonged to a former assistant who, on becoming seriously ill, donated his remains to the inquisitor’s service. However, others have heard the rumour that the skull actually belonged to a pirate who made the mistake of attacking the inquisitor’s starship while on a mission.

Only one person knows for sure – Inquisitor Jeremias himself!
