This third book took an age to write. After three false starts – one that turned into the Alice versus the Devils short story, one that turned out to be the start of book 4, and one that I’ve turned into a short story readers can get when they sign up to my email list – and agonising over the conflict between Alice and Charlie (I don’t like making any of my characters fight!), I’m extremely happy to be able to get this book into the world.
And I’m so happy I could bring Charlie back into the story and give her some of the spotlight.
A huge thanks to my ever-suffering editor, Alison Bedford, for waiting so patiently for this one. Your insights into Alice’s character and the series as a whole have helped shape Alice’s journey and made the books far better than I’d ever be able to make them on my own.
