JAXON
Jaxon chose that point as a good place to stop emailing.
He made himself close his laptop and go to the gym. The last thing Colin needed was to think Jaxon sat around waiting to email her. No, he had to go on living his life and acting like she was just business.
Because, as far as Colin was concerned, she was.
Even if Jaxon was determined to prove otherwise and judging by the tone of the emails, he had a good chance, if he could move slow. Carlisle had been right. Colin didn’t need aggressive pressure. She needed constant, slow pressure to be worn down.
Jaxon was determined enough to try. What did he have to lose?

A HARD SESSION AT THE gym and a shower didn’t lessen the need to check his email again. What if she’d emailed him while he’d been away. He’d blocked the email on his phone from syncing so he wouldn’t respond right away.
But as he got back home and sat down to eat the omelet he’d ordered from one of the restaurants between the gym and his place, he couldn’t wait any longer.
Her email told him something about her and the glimpse into who she was captured him like a small bite of a dessert he wanted. Of course, he wanted to know more. He wanted to know as much as he could. If she would go for it, he’d send her a four-hundred question quiz to fill out. But he held himself back from typing all the questions and just kept the tone and pace of the email easy.
I’m a Chevy fan, too. My first car was a ’67 Impala. They don’t get any cooler than that.
International red tape will be easy to get through. I’ll send you a notice when we can move forward with the next step.

The days passed and Colin and Jaxon didn’t email again. His chest hurt as the time lengthened between them. He looked for a reason to reach out but didn’t have anything other than wondering what she was doing and if she missed him as much as he was missing her.
Finally, Jaxon got the information he needed from his man about the international blocks. They were dissolved and considered benefits now, instead of cons.
Jaxon called another business man and made an order he hoped wouldn’t be too much. When he had the money he had, he couldn’t help but hope something would impress her.
But what if it didn’t? What if it pushed her further away? Jaxon wasn’t sure how far would be too far.
She would get the gift the next day and Jaxon didn’t know if he could wait to find out what she thought.
Staring at his computer, Jaxon wondered if he should give her a heads up or just let it be?
A call from another partner pulled his attention away.
The gift was already ordered. He would have to see how she responded. There was nothing else he could do about it.
Nothing but worry.
