Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups wide egg noodles
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 cups diced, cooked chicken meat
Directions
Step 1 Bring a sizable pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and boil, and boil for 8 minutes, or until tender. Drain, and rinse under cool running water.
Step 2 In a sizable saucepan or Dutch oven, combine broth, salt, and poultry seasoning. Bring to a boil. Stir in celery and onion. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer a quarter-hour.
Step 3 In a little bowl, mix cornstarch and water together until cornstarch is totally dissolved. Gradually increase soup, stirring constantly. Stir in noodles and chicken, and heat through.
