“Reinforcements are needed to keep him alive.”

“Let Watson go with you,” the Master replied,

“Of his wisdom and fortitude you can be sure.

“Come here, my dear fellow.” He pulled me aside.

“Keep Henry in sight and stay clear of the moor.”

Henry encountered and started to court

One Stapleton’s sister, mysterious Beryl,

Leading to dinner, cigars, glass of port,

Merripit shrouded and Henry in peril.

Explanation? A mastiff in phosphorous fire.

Stapleton perished alone in the mire.
