I write stories I like to read, romantic stories where the characters fall in love and grow because of that love over the course of a novel. Tempest is an open coming of age series with characters in their twenties. But in the back of my mind I always had a plan to give the seasoned supporting cast their own books. That plan came to fruition in Find Me, Remember Me, and Keep Me. Even though I was in the middle of finishing up Dream Magic, I couldn’t let go of the idea for Johnny, Annabelle, and Charles. My writing is cathartic and two things happened that writing their story helped me work through. One was sending my oldest off to college. The other was losing my 101 year-old grandmother, the one who showed me by example that women can do anything they set their minds to, and that you are never too old to try something new. She started taking piano lessons at age 70 because it was something she had always wanted to do. I started writing as a second career in my forties. I’m a late bloomer like my grandmother.
