I’ve made this recipe probably more than any I’ve ever created, but I still get excited even just thinking about it. The trick is doctoring store-bought BBQ sauce, which might sound bizarre but is my all-time favorite hack. It’s great for salads, like my Grilled Broccolini and Escarole Salad, makes an awesome glaze for baked chicken wings, and is the ultimate mop sauce for ribs and burgers.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, olive oil, vinegar, and garlic. Season the vinaigrette generously with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until chilled, about 20 minutes.

DO IT AHEAD The BBQ Sauce Vinaigrette can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
