Oh, Man-in-the-moon upon thee I gaze tonight.
With wonder and awe I follow your shiny trail.
I see your many craters by your silvery light.
Are they only seas of sand beckoning us to sail?
I walk upon your beams across the ghostly land,
Bright moonlight on frosty grass, a specter to behold,
Searching for the answer: are you only rocks and sand?
Or is there something more that’s tugging at my soul?
Your beams beneath my feet upon the icy grass,
That Mona Lisa smile creeping slowly across and past,
A face that taunts me tonight, “Come, come and see”.
Oh, what an adventure that would be.
Will I come to you one day, those seas beneath my feet,
There to explore and unlock your mystery?
To sail across those seas would be such a treat.
Oh, what a grand adventure that would be! &
