On this greatest of all adventures,
By our actions your chariot ventures.
You go while we must remain,
But we go with you just the same.
You ride upon the backs of many,
Though your courage transcends any.
Mighty rocket engines roar.
Far beyond my eyes you rise and soar.
With a belch of smoke and fire,
You drive the beast higher and higher.
Fly the beast to orbit, there to park.
Check it “good-to-go” and restart on mark,
Sending that mighty chariot of fire
On the lunar path that we aspire.
As you traverse the sea of black,
Look back to the precious isle of blue.
Though there we stay to watch your track,
