SOCIALIZATION

It is not good for the man to be alone.

GENESIS 2:18

When God created humans, he knew it was not good for us to be alone. He designed us to be a social species. We need other people in our lives to thrive emotionally and spiritually. Without friends and family to interact with, our minds begin to decay. In fact, studies have shown that feeling lonely is a risk factor for Alzheimer’s. If you’re looking for new ways to build community, try getting involved with your church, taking a class, forming friendships at work, sharing a meal with your neighbors, and staying connected with old friends. Not only is having community good for your soul, it’s good for your brain as well!

Encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

1 THESSALONIANS 5:11

Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

1 PETER 4:8

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

ECCLESIASTES 4:12

As iron sharpens iron,

so a friend sharpens a friend.

PROVERBS 27:17

A friend is always loyal,

and a brother is born to help in time of need.

PROVERBS 17:17

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

HEBREWS 10:24-25

Love your neighbor as yourself.

MATTHEW 22:39

All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

1 CORINTHIANS 12:27

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

1 JOHN 1:3

All of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.

1 PETER 3:8

When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
