FLAGS OF THE UNITED STATES

The first official American flag had thirteen stars on a blue field with thirteen stripes of red and white, representing the original thirteen colonies. The number of stripes changed over the years until it was decided to keep the thirteen original stripes and add stars for every new state. This project shows some of the different flags that have flown over the White House and the years in which they were used.
