Roll out a slab of clay and prepare yourself for unlimited possibilities. You can create big or small sculptures or vessels with your slabs. Emboss, inscribe, texturize, carve, stamp, cut and assemble your slabs in any way you can dream up. Create mosaic pieces or components for your mixed-media art.
STEP ONE: Roll out a slab with wood strips to get a consistent thickness.
STEP TWO: Make a pattern for your mosaic showing text and images.
STEP THREE: Use the pattern as a template to cut individual sections of clay.
STEP FOUR: Stamp texture and alphabet letters into the clay and let all the pieces dry.
STEP FIVE: Cut a piece of foamcore to the size of your image, and adhere the image to the foamcore using soft gel medium. Then brush the medium over the adhered image.
STEP SIX: When all the clay pieces are dry, paint them and then adhere all the pieces to a piece of foamcore, plywood or MDF using E6000, premium white glue or epoxy glue.
