You can easily model any shape or size of beads with Critter Clay. Create texture on your beads with stamps or other clay tools (even a pencil becomes a clay tool when you use it to poke a series of holes for a texturized surface). Run a skewer through your bead from both ends to make sure the hole on each end is smooth. Once your beads are fully cured (1–2 days depending on their size), you can paint them with any paint you choose and apply any acrylic varnish if you want extra shine and durability.
STEP ONE: Work the clay to form the shape and size of bead that you want.
STEP TWO: Make marks into all sides of the clay for your design.
STEP THREE: Skewer the bead from both ends to make a smooth hole.
STEP FOUR: Once the bead has fully cured, paint it. When dry, drybrush on a darker acrylic glaze and wipe off excess to accent recessed patterns.
