These bowls are fun, beautiful and easy to make. The bowl will not be waterproof, but it will be a beautiful way to display any dry objects. It is more dramatic to paint the inside of the bowl a different contrasting color from the outside of the bowl.
STEP ONE: Apply a thick mixture of ClayShay to the bottom two-thirds of a small, inflated balloon, leaving an uneven, thinned-out edge.
STEP TWO: Wrap plastic wrap around the balloon and tie it closed with a twist tie or string. Creases will happen; arrange as desired.
STEP THREE: When the clay is thoroughly dry, peel off the plastic and pop the balloon to reveal the bowl.
STEP FOUR: Paint or brush the outside with an acrylic glaze, and use a contrasting paint (like the metallic gold paint used here) for the inside of the bowl.
