Making Plaster Gauze Pages

Use plaster gauze to make book art pages with a textured twist. Keep adding strips of wet gauze on top of one another and smoothing until you achieve the thickness desired.

STEP ONE: Lay two layers of wet gauze down on plastic.

STEP TWO: Smooth the layers and let it dry.

STEP THREE: Cut out a window (if desired), then paint the book page.

Texturing Canvasses

Want a fast way to give a canvas texture? Just wrap it with plaster gauze, creating peaks and valleys on the surface. When it is painted, you can add drybrushing to highlight the texture.
