Sometimes we all need to step out of our comfort zone as a person or as a writer. In Lucky’s Beach I wanted to explore characters as opposite as they could be and yet tied to one another. It was a roller coaster of a ride.
Thanks to my reading pals, Gail Freeman and Lois Winston, who were ready to take on all questions from the nature of good and evil to character motivations and questionable fashion sense. You certainly made it interesting.
And thanks to my editors, Tessa Woodward and Elle Keck at William Morrow, for kneading this story into shape. And special thanks to my agent, Kevan Lyon, ever brilliant, energetic, and indefatigable.
And finally a big thank-you to the people of Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach, and Lewes, Delaware, for their hospitality and their passion for their communities and the people who live there.
