Say, ‘We believe in Allah and in what was revealed to us, and in what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the tribes; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and (all) the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we have surrendered to Him (in Islam).’ (al-Qur’an 2:136)
…Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour to you, and have chosen Islam for you as your religion… (al-Qur’an 5:3)

THE PROPHET 
said: ‘The religion (of Islam) is easy. No one ever made it difficult without it becoming too much for him. So avoid extremes and strike a balance, do the best you can (in carrying out your religious observances) and be cheerful; and seek Allah’s help (through prayer) in the morning and evening, and part of the night’. (Bukhari)

THE PROPHET said: ‘Islam is built on five pillars:

Bearing witness that there is no god but Allah (the One God), and that Muhammad is His Messenger. |

Establishing regular prayer. |

* |
Paying the poor-due (zakat). |
|

Making pilgrimage (Hajj) to the House (of Allah in Makkah), and |

Fasting in (the month of) Ramadan’. (Bukhari, Muslim) |
