Allah! There is no god but Him (the One God). He will gather you all together (before Him) on the Day of Judgement; there is no doubt about it. And whose word can be truer than Allah’s? (al-Qur’an 4:87)

THE PROPHET said: ‘On the Day of Resurrection, every servant of Allah will remain standing (before Him) until he is questioned about his life, how he spent it; his knowledge, what he did with it; his money, how he earned it and spent it, and his body, how he used it’. (Tirmidhi and Darimi)

THE PROPHET said: ‘On the Day of Judgement, Allah will say, ‘O son of Adam, I was ill, and you did not visit Me.’ The man will say, ‘O my Lord, how could I visit You, when You are the Lord of all the Worlds?’ Allah will say, ‘Did you not know that My servant so-and-so was ill, and you did not visit him? ‘Did you not know that if you had visited him you would have found Me with him’?
‘O son of Adam, I asked you for food, and you did not feed Me.’ The man will say, ‘O my Lord, how could I feed You, when You are the Lord of all the Worlds?’ Allah will say, ‘Did you not know that My servant so-and-so asked you for food, and you did not feed him? Did you not know that if you had fed him you would have found (the reward for doing so) with Me’?
‘O son of Adam, I asked you for a drink, and you did not give Me anything to drink.’ The man will say, ‘O my Lord, how could I give You something to drink, when You are the Lord of all the Worlds?’ Allah will say, ‘My servant so-and-so asked you for something to drink, and you did not give it to him. If you had given him something to drink you would have found (the reward for doing so) with Me’. (Muslim)

THE PROPHET said: ‘When booty is taken out of turn,
and the property given in trust is treated as spoils,
and the poor-due is regarded as a fine,
and knowledge is sought for non-religious reasons,
when a man obeys his wife but is undutiful towards his mother,
when he is close to his friend but distant from his father,
when voices are raised in the mosques,
when a corrupt member of a tribe becomes its chief,
and the most worthless member of a people becomes its leader,
when a man is shown honour out of fear of the evil that he may do,
when singing-girls and stringed instruments become popular,
and alcohol is drunk,
and when the last of this community (the Muslims)
curse the first of them –
Then let them look out for a red wind, earthquakes,
the earth splitting open;
changes in Allah’s creation, pelting rain,
and signs following one another like pieces of a necklace falling one
after the other when its string is cut’. (Tirmidhi)
