Chapter 20
Mai
Cipher sat on my bed in the forbidden condo. Fuck Rocko! Since he couldn’t answer any of my calls, and he was having another baby, I was going to do whatever I wanted. I liked Cipher’s dick so much that I wasn’t going to leave him alone. He had handled Neiosha like he’d said he would, and I hadn’t seen her or heard from her.
“I see you doing your thing, baby. You got a new car, new crib,” he said as he moved a blunt across the lighter to seal it. “What you do? Win the Lotto?”
I sat on the bed next to him, wearing nothing but a matching pink bra and panties. “You already know who my baby dad is, don’t you?”
A small smirk appeared on his face. “I heard that today the police picked up his boy in San Francisco to question him about the murder of my cousin. Took them fuckers long enough to finish this investigation. It’ll only be a matter of time before they get your baby daddy for killing my cousin.”
My body stiffened. “Rocko didn’t kill your cousin, Cipher.”
“You really think he’s going to tell you the truth?”
I didn’t like hearsay, and I never believed anyone else’s hype. I especially didn’t pay attention to trash talking about Rocko, but he had been acting strange, and what if what Cipher was saying was true? I bet that was the reason why Rocko had had me hide that money, had given me that brand-new car and the condo. He was up to something, and I wished he had told me what it was so I could’ve at least known what was true or not.
“I don’t know,” I admitted. “He lies about everything.”
He puffed on the blunt and then passed it to me. “Rocko is a straight sucka, and he’s going to get what’s coming to him. Believe that.”
I took two puffs and passed the blunt back. I hopped up and put on some music.
Cipher watched me shake and move my ass seductively to the beat. He gave me a head nod to come to him. A naughty grin appeared on his face as I walked back to the bed. He lay back, placed his hands behind his head, and waited for me to straddle him. I sat on top of him and wrapped the bottom of my feet around his thighs.
“Take that sexy shit off,” he demanded.
I loved his bossy swagger, and he had me going crazy. I looked down at him as the partial gold grill on his bottom teeth gleamed. Damn, he was sexy. He slapped my ass in anticipation of seeing me naked. Every time I stripped for him, his eyes danced all over my body, as if it was the first time he had ever seen me.
As soon as I was completely naked, he licked his lips and pulled my arm. He wanted me to give him some head, and I was more than happy to grant his silent request. I unbuckled his pants, took his thickness into my mouth, and worked him like a pro. He groaned on contact and grabbed the back of my head to touch the back of my throat. He loved it when I took it all without difficulty.
When he had enough, he pulled me up to get on top of him. My movements became liquid as I flowed on top of him. He took hold of my ass and helped me bounce faster and faster, until he busted.
I lay on top of him, feeling high from the weed. Our quick session was over. He moved me off him. Then he got up, pull up his pants, and reached for his jacket.
“Are you leaving already?” I asked with an attitude. “You just got here.”
“I got moves to make.”
“Can I come with you?”
He looked uneasy but then replied, “Come on. Hurry up.”
We cruised around the dark streets of Oak Park in his yellow Thunderbird. I sat back and enjoyed the ride. I hadn’t been out this way in a while, and it felt good to be baby free. I hadn’t even noticed that we were on Neiosha’s block until we stopped in front of her house.
What kind of messy shit was this?
He sensed my tension and said calmly, “Chill for a minute. I’ll be right back.”
Though I nodded, I was uncomfortable, because I wasn’t trying to see Neiosha. I locked the car doors to help me feel a little bit better. It would’ve helped if it wasn’t so damn dark outside.
Minutes later a few hard knocks on my window startled me. I looked up to see Neiosha glaring at me. She was wearing an oversize black hooded sweatshirt, so at first, I didn’t know who she was.
Though she wasn’t smiling, she said in a fake friendly tone, “Hey, girl. Roll down the window.”
I shook my head.
Cipher walked up next to her and said to me, “Get out of the car.”
Was he crazy? I shook my head again.
“It’s all good. She’s not tripping. Get out of the car. We all gotta talk,” he told me.
I unlocked the door, but I clutched my purse in case I had to use my pepper spray. Cipher pulled the door open roughly before I could get all the way out.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
“Cipher and I had a talk. I’m good with the two of you doing your thing,” Neiosha announced.
They both laughed at the way I was staring at them.
I wasn’t laughing. “Are you serious, or is this a joke?”
“Girl, ain’t nobody gonna do anything to you.” She smiled at Cipher. “Did you ask her about the money?”
Cipher replied, “Not yet.”
“What money?” I asked, narrowing my eyes at her.
“Rocko owes me money, and I need you to help me get it back,” he said.
“How the fuck can I help you get it back?”
“He’s your baby daddy, so that’s going to be up to you to figure out. All you have to do is ask him to hand it over,” he replied.
“How much does he owe you, and when did you let him borrow it?”
“Oh, he didn’t borrow it. The night he killed my cousin, he stole fifty thousand dollars from me.”
My heart raced. I hoped it wasn’t the money he had given me to put up.
“Something tells me that you know how we can get the money.” Neiosha looked at me with suspicion.
I didn’t know what to say or do. The last thing I wanted was be in the middle of whatever mess Rocko had created.
“I know where he keeps some of his money.”
“You do?” Cipher asked, raising his eyebrow.
“It’s in my closet at the condo,” I revealed.
“You gone give it to me?”
“Yeah.” I swallowed the hard lump that was forming in my throat.
“That’s my girl. Let’s go,” Cipher said.
Rocko was going to kill me, because he had told me not to touch his money, but I didn’t know what else to do.
