The Black Verse indicates a way to disarm without bloodshed, but the Reverend desires that we use the invocation of destruction against enemies instead. Without annihilation, the Reverend teaches, the enemy shall return. Even still, I have learned the more peaceful solution in battle, which is to use the phrase:
M’gah-ge-hye’thn—translated to mean, “Stop your attack.”
I have not yet attempted this phrase, because I fear the slightest misspoken sound could prove fatal to my target. But in a case of extreme desperation, I may decide to employ the hex.
