This evening, as a comfortable twilight fell upon the territory, the Reverend bid our company to reflect on the primary element of our being. Some of us suggested that the heart is the principal component, for without the heart we cannot feel, while others argued it is the mind, for without it we cannot reason.

“None of these are true,” the Reverend replied. “The most essential portion of our being is the soul, for the essence of a soul fuels the energies of both the world we see and the one we cannot.”

The Reverend then expounded upon one of the ancient artifacts we seek, a treasure known in legend as the Char Stone. This relic is vital to the Reverend’s quest. He explains that the Stone is a “vessel” for the energies of a soul, though I cannot claim to fathom his meaning of such things. He spoke of an immaterial realm, a place where souls live in their own geographical plane, like smoke captured behind glass. The Reverend taught that only the most powerful of Prime users dare touch the Char Stone to glimpse the immaterial realm, as contact with the object would kill any who are unprepared.

I find myself intrigued by the Reverend’s metaphysical lessons. Perhaps if we find this fabled Char Stone, we will uncover the greatest truths of our existence. Perhaps we will discover true knowledge and power.
