The grocery store in From Indiana, With Love is called the Higgelty Piggelty. It’s a fun little take on the Piggly Wiggly. This particular grocery store chain isn’t in Indiana, but I have visited them a lot on the occasion of being in Wisconsin a few times.

No real farmers were maligned in the writing of this book. Also, no real animals were harmed in the creation of this story. And though I’d love to say finding marijuana hiding amidst the cornstalks is a product of my imagination, it’s not. I’ve lived in Indiana all my life, and I have to say, some of the stuff I write about is true. So, to my fellow Hoosiers, keep doing what you do and keep sharing your tales with me. If I like what I hear, I’ll use it, because really, the stuff I can’t make up is way more entertaining than the stuff I do.

In addition, although there really is a hotel in downtown Indy with a swanky restaurant on top, I didn’t want to use its real name, so I went with my old stand-by, the Carlisle. If you’ve ever read my books with downtown Indianapolis in them, this shouldn’t be a surprise.
