Breakfast Sausage and Apples
A delicious combination to go along with breakfast or brunch!

*This measurement, when multiplied, has been adjusted to accommodate the intensified flavor of acidic ingredients when recipes are made in quantity. |
Original Recipe Yield
5–6 servings
Cooking Day
Brown the sausages and cut each link in half crosswise. Drain off excess grease. In a large bowl, combine apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, salt, and pepper, mixing to coat the apples. Gently fold in the sausages. Freeze, using freezer bag method.
Serving Day
Thaw mixture slightly. Grease a 1½ quart baking dish. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place apple and sausage mixture into the dish. Cover with foil and bake for 20–25 minutes. Remove foil and stir mixture. Continue baking uncovered for 25–30 more minutes, until apples are soft and caramelized. Stir as needed. Serve with your favorite egg dish.
