About the Illustrator

Jamie Morris earned a BFA degree from the Alberta College of Art & Design (ACAD) in 1997, majoring in Visual Communications. He continued his formal education at the prestigious Illustration Academy in Kansas City, Missouri.

Subsequently, Jamie returned to Calgary to begin his career as a freelance illustrator. Within a few years, Jamie had completed numerous high-profile projects and won several awards from the Society of Illustrators in New York. Five murals by Jamie—part of the Glenbow Museum’s acclaimed Mavericks exhibit—can still be seen on permanent display. Jamie’s corporate list of clients includes Canadian Pacific, Parks Canada, and the Calgary Stampeders.

Outside of his career as an illustrator, Jamie has exhibited his oil paintings in galleries across western Canada and Alaska. Jamie also teaches part-time in ACAD’s department of Visual Communications.

Jamie lives in Calgary with his wife Tamara; daughter Sophie; and their over-sized Weimaraner Bogart.
