Chapter 5- Evernote Mods and Tweaks- What Are They?
At a time when the digital age is in full force, there is a longing to do more with technology, say long-time information technology (IT) professionals who view Evernote mods and tweaks as a sort of virtual filing cabinet. In fact, Evernote is a methodology that was developed to help computer and Internet users work with today’s high-tech environment more effectively and efficiently. For instance, an IT expert explained Evernote Mods and Tweaks as a sort of “blueprint” or way and means to better organize oneself in this ever changing digital world.
Another aspect of getting more done in cyberspace - without forgetting all the ins and outs of this method – is linked to the simple act of not forgetting what you just sorted out online or with that new app on your Smartphone. The problem with anything new system for being more versatile with emerging and current technology is the issue of de-coding “techno-speak,” added the IT expert commenting online about how people in his line of work have their own language. In turn, Evernote attempts to level the playing field so non-Geeks can master this “platform” – known as Evernote – while understanding what the heck a platform really is in the scheme of things.
Breaking the Code of Evernote
First you have to know that Evernote is application or app that is credited with being useful to those who work or play in cyberspace. The learning curve for the app takes about two hours to master; while it is also fun to learn. In fact, the app can be compared to another brain that holds all the online and high-tech stuff that is now making your head ache. For instance, how many passwords can a human being actually remember before saying enough is enough?
The solution to this may be the getting things done (GTD) app. Also, Evernote tweaks are simply mods for using various operating systems more efficiently.
While the GTD or Evernote is marketed as a way and means to increase productivity in one’s personal life and at work, the logic for such an app may be skewed since people, like machines, often act in unpredictable ways. Still, it is fun to know that the GTD method exists in hope to actually streamline one’s lifestyle in the digital realm while also doing such things as eating, sleeping, petting the family dog, making love, being a good neighbor and member of the community and just being human.
According to various guides for the Evernote systems – that are marketed online under both Evernote and the GTD method – the main idea is to boost productivity by doing simple tasks that can lead to getting big stuff done over time with the assistance of this technology. In fact, the method or system is simply about using this virtual assistant to help you wade through all the massive data that anyone online today must wade through. It is enough to do your head in, say computer users who look blurry-eyed after a day of computing.
How to Get Things Done With Evernote
When the author of the GTD system explained his methodology - during a public broadcasting radio interview - David Allen said Evernote is all about managing one’s time online. In fact, Allen was very frank in his assessment of why people are not as productive as they would like to be in the digital age.
Moreover, Allen told PBS that he thinks it is really impossible for humans to gain complete control over all the stuff that today’s Internet technology is throwing at us today. It is a fool’s game, and that is why Evernote exists as a sort of solution to gain some small control over all the many e-mails, digital projects, apps and other stuff that fully-wired computer and Smartphone and tablet users encounter each and every day.
At the same time, there will always be a need for efficiency when it comes to the human desire to control their work environment. Thus, Evernote offers a system that helps tech users get things done without overtaxing their fragile brains. The Evernote or GTD method uses six levels of doing stuff that are called horizons.
The six levels include:
A view that productivity starts with sorting out smaller tasks before setting lofty goals to complete big jobs.
A method that requires tech users to take a step back, so they can better imagine the big picture when it comes to deciding what tasks should be sorted out during a day of working online or with computer systems for some specific purpose.
The practice of freeing oneself from all the data that presents itself as soon as a “screen” is turned on. In turn, this freedom means being more human than machine in terms of making choices on one’s own rather than asking a machine to sort out your day, your project, your priorities or whatever needs to be done.
The understanding that Evernote mods and tweaks are nothing more than using one’s decision making to sort through lots of information contained on screens in a more versatile manner to overcome those mental hiccups without relying on technology to do the thinking for you.
A greater focus on planning – using one’s own brain and not a computer brain – to ensure great success at overcoming mental blocks that may be occurring due to too much reliance on technology.
The incorporation of the GTD system or Evernote to create a true independent mind so the human user is the master of his domain, first and foremost.
Overall, the GTD system or Evernote and tweaks are nothing more than a way and means to look at one’s many tech tasks, and make better informed decisions on how to proceed in a more stress free way. While technology is great at presenting all sorts of data, it is the human computer and tech user who must also manage everyday life.
