Have you noticed how many businesses run expensive ads, offer deep discounts, tempt you with coupons and giveaways, and come up with all kinds of enticements to get you to buy? Then, when it comes time to take your money, they can't do it. They have lines backed up, salespeople who aren't properly trained, or counter people who have no customer-service experience. An additional person or a little more training could fix this problem, and make a bad experience a pleasurable one for as little as ten dollars an hour.

Analyze your procedures and make it easy for your customers to buy. Human beings are creatures of habit who will always take the path of least resistance.
When it comes time to get customers to say “yes,” don't be guilty of a $10 stupidity. Hire that extra staff, train your current associates, or invest in that extra piece of machinery that will make working under pressure much simpler. Work to make it easy, enjoyable, and quick for your customers to buy. Because if you are not ready when the customer is finally willing to hand over the cash, you're in big trouble.
