This plan shows the Pavilion’s interaction with the 9/11 Memorial and the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Museum visitors enter through the Pavilion and gradually descend to bedrock via a long ramp called “the Ribbon.”

Once Ground Zero was cleared, the remains of the steel box columns that defined the perimeters of the original Twin Towers became visible and were covered with protective plywood sheets. Preserved, they can now be seen inside the museum.
