Classified CIA Memo

August 1998

Dr. Rosalind Beecher has briefed CIA agent Jana Ling on the current situation in New York. The “Reenu-You” virus replicates quickly, within three to twenty-one days. Symptoms vary, but begin with a disfiguring rash on the face, neck and arms. Agent Ling speculates that the “Reenu-You” virus is a mutation of the biological agent from our defunct covert bioweapons U.S. facility in Malaysia. The agent may have escaped from the laboratory and been accidently incorporated into the Reenu-You product. Mutations may have caused the virus to evolve from one based on human contact to airborne.

After three years of trials, research was abandoned and destroyed after undesirable and unintentional side effects were discovered in hosts including erratic group behavior. Side effects included loss of individual identity in favor of group identity, group paranoia, and in extremely rare cases signs of possible group telepathy. Tests subjects displaying these side effects were terminated. Agent Ling is concerned with the possible amplification of these side effects in the recently infected. She predicts a high threat to stability of population with possible individuals possessing abilities that are uncontrolled and unstudied.

Dr. Rosalind estimates 85% fatality rate of “Reenu-You” as an airborne virus.

Agent Ling recommends sending a tactical unit to investigate the Malaysian facility.

Agent Ling is working with local officials to minimize risk level and to suppress evidence or knowledge of possible origin of the virus. She has full cooperation to terminate subjects showing any signs of abnormal group abilities.
