CHOCOLATE-RASPBERRY SMOOTHIE

I enjoy this smoothie when it’s made with my Homemade Yogurt (page 39), but you can experiment with raw milk, kefir, nut milk, or coconut milk for all or part of the liquid, as well. Turn this into a green smoothie by adding a handful or two of any greens you like. Whatever you do, don’t skip the raw cacao powder. I can’t say enough good things about it—it’s high in magnesium, iron, fiber, and antioxidants. Another bonus: As Tyler Graham and Drew Ramsey noted in their book The Happiness Diet, when raspberries are paired with chocolate, the antioxidants in both are even more effective.

Serves 1 or 2

  1. 1 In a blender, blend the yogurt, banana, raspberries, egg yolk, and cacao powder well, adding ice or water to produce the desired consistency.
