^* The liberal media and the Democratic Party’s treatment of Clarence Thomas when he was nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court was the cruelest noncriminal behavior I have witnessed in my lifetime. And the reason is that no Americans are as hated by the Left as are black conservatives. An example of that hatred was expressed by San Francisco mayor Willie Brown in a speech to the Association of Black Sociologists: Thomas “must not be allowed any comfort from any of us…. He should be reduced to talking to only white conservatives. He must be shut out.”
