for gobi and lyana,

On the one hand, long-legged JOY,

dressed in a tutu, leopard-print leggings,

and a “top model” tank, turning

landing a cartwheel finished

all of her homework at school!

On the other, long-haird INTELLIGENCE

AND COMPASSION, all hoodied up,

puffy sneakers, a backpack heavy with ichthyology

texts, composing an opposition to Milton

on marital dissolution, thoughtful, so, a bit

slow-

O mine, fairer and more incorruptible!

Saviors of Lacedaemon and Hellas!

Their beautiful and blooming faces!

SQUINKY-SQUINKY!

My immortality on a skateboard!)
