Dear Readers,
We have always loved history. Since there were so many wars throughout the years, we began studying warriors who lived long ago. The earliest battles were in Mesopotamia thousands of years ago. Soldiers wore armor and fought with axes, swords, and spears.
We found out that Athens, a city-state in ancient Greece, depended on its navy. Their ships had battering rams on them! The city-state of Sparta in Greece trained its men to be soldiers who devoted their lives to going to war.
The ancient Roman army was one of the most famous in history. Its soldiers conquered many lands that became part of the huge Roman Empire. After we learned about emperors Marcus Aurelius and Julius Caesar, we moved on to medieval knights. They wore amazing armor and fought on horseback.
We learned so much and loved every minute of it. So grab your pencils and notebooks, and let’s go on an adventure with warriors!
