Ever have an idea that wouldn’t stop nagging you? Sometimes ideas pester us even when we know they’re fundamentally bad. Think of a questionable idea that’s been rattling around in your noggin and compose a short rejection letter to it.
5-MINUTE PROMPT:
Some businesses are out of this world. Think of one that you’ve visited recently, whether it’s the dry cleaner or the convenience store, and write the inner monologue of a Greek god or goddess who’s come down from Mount Olympus to check this place out.
10-MINUTE PROMPT:
Ever read a book that you felt kind of meh about? Perhaps you even said to yourself, I could write something better than this. Well, here’s your chance to make the case. Craft a short essay that details what you would change about the story. Would you rewrite the plot? Would you alter anything about the characters or setting?
20-MINUTE PROMPT:
Write a critical analysis of a recent TV episode you watched, taking into account the visuals, dialogue, and devices that were used to convey the show’s message or theme. What worked, and what didn’t? Lay out a case for whether the show’s creator achieved what he or she appeared to be intending to achieve.
