Think of a time when someone you know wanted to quit. What would you write in a note to encourage that person to keep going?
5-MINUTE PROMPT:
Remember when you wanted to throw in the towel, but you didn’t? How did that situation resolve? Write an ending to a story where the protagonist pushes through in the same way that you did.
10-MINUTE PROMPT:
Recall a woman (or girl) from history who persisted against the odds and brought something special to the world. It could be someone well known, or it could be someone important to you personally such as a familial ancestor. Write about an obstacle this person was up against and what her persistence means to you.
20-MINUTE PROMPT:
Persistence isn’t always a good thing. Think of someone you know who persisted when, truth be told, they should’ve packed it in a lot sooner. Using the details of your friend or acquaintance’s experience, write a short cautionary tale about knowing when to quit.
