This section of the book considers what the future might hold, but before doing this I will give a brief review of past technological developments. Few photographs capture the juxtaposition of such developments as well as the one above. It was taken during Concorde’s final flight; and in the background the Clifton Suspension Bridge (which was mentioned towards the start of this book), is visible. So, the image combines two world- famous Bristol icons and forms a suitable epilogue to the career of this astonishing aircraft.
