But remember the Lord your God is the one who makes you wealthy. He’s confirming the promise which he swore to your ancestors. It’s still in effect today.

Deuteronomy 8:18

Money—who doesn’t want it? And who doesn’t need more of it? It’s how you get food, clothes, and shelter. But is that all money is good for? The most important thing about money isn’t having as much as you want in order to get all the things you want but having enough to give to others in need. God doesn’t give his children money in order to make them happy but in order for them to distribute it to the people around them who are in need.

When you give to others, don’t expect to get anything at all back from them, but know that your reward will be from God alone. In fact, you have a choice: are you gonna choose to seek your reward from people or from God? Whenever you give to others without looking for a reward, you really are giving back to yourself, because someday you’ll see what God has in store for the God Girl who gives not to please herself but to please him.

What you have isn’t your own. It all came from God so that it could go out to those who are in more need than you are. When you are blessed with something, ask God who you can now bless. Find out how to spread the wealth, how to share the gifts, and how to change the world through giving to others as God gives to you.
