A person’s fear sets a trap for him, but one who trusts the Lord is safe.
Proverbs 29:25
Fear of anything or anyone other than God is sin. People are afraid because they don’t have the blood of Jesus in their veins. Worry and fear come from doubt, so how can anyone who trusts Jesus be filled with worry and fear? If you are a God Girl, by definition you are a believer, not a doubter. Doubt and belief cannot peacefully coexist. One will always conquer the other. Fear and worry are the symptoms of doubt, so they should be rejected in favor of faith.
If you tend to fear, think about this: the same God who saved you from your sin can save you from whatever it is that you are afraid of. Are you more devoted to the voice of fear or the voice of God? In order to be free, you have to say no every time fear talks to your soul. Just say, “I trust my God,” and leave it at that (see Prov. 29:25). Fear might never stop knocking at your door, but you don’t have to answer ever again. Lock the dead bolt and cover the peephole.
Fear is a blatant disregard for the work that Christ has done for you. Don’t call him a liar. Take his hand and trust him to hold you up as you climb the cliff and cross the canyon.
