You will be treated as you have treated others.
You will get back what you have given.

Obadiah 15

I f God treated you the way you treat other people, how happy would that make you feel? God is a God of justice. That means that he doesn’t just let sin go, and he also doesn’t care how mean other people are to you; he’ll never let that be your excuse for sin. In Mark 11:25 Jesus says forgiveness is only for people who have forgiven others. It’s easy to love only the people who love you and never hurt you, but big whoop— even nonbelievers do that. It’s a natural human response, but the God Girl doesn’t act on her emotion alone, but on truth.

God’s command is for his children to love at all times. That doesn’t mean to love sin, in ourselves or others, but it does mean that love isn’t reserved for the lovable. It means that sometimes we have to act in love even though we feel like doing the complete opposite. After all, God loved us even when we didn’t love him. He loved us even though we totally rejected him with our sin. He gave his Son for the world even though he knew the world wouldn’t accept him. The God Girl wants to love like God loves, so that makes her want to love people who don’t deserve it and to obey no matter how much it might cost.

Is your love a godly love? Do you demand respect? Or do you try to do to others what you would want them to do to you? Treat others with the same love that God has shown to you, and the love in your life will only grow stronger and deeper.
